Textured Soy Protein’s post earlier about his journey to the hidden Chinese restaurant reminded me about my visits as a kid to The Canteen Lunch, a little restaurant stuck in an alley in Ottumwa, IA, whenever we visited Great Grandma . And that reminded me of my very first car, given to me by Great Grandpa, a beautiful little Mustang like this one:
Of course, mine was new and shiny back in the day. Unfortunately, through various moves by both me and my parents, I think it has long since disappeared. But I did just try to check with Mom to see if she knew what happened to it, so we’ll see if she recalls. FYI, I’m now on my 6th Mustang, if you count this first one!
